The congress of the Tallinn district of the Social Democratic Party that was held on Wednesday approved the candidate for the post of mayor of the capital – Rainer Vakra.
According to the words of the candidate for the post of the Tallinn head (from the Social Democrats) - Rainer Vakra, the mayor can be called successful only when all kids have happy childhood. That is why the main priority of the Social Democrats in Tallinn elections are children and their future.
According to Vakra, 80 kindergartens in Tallinn have to be repaired, and this is almost two-thirds of the total number of capital's kindergartens.
"The main goal and promise of the Social Democrats in these elections are to straighten out all the kindergartens within four years," - said Vakra.
"But that's not all. In addition, all children should be well-fed, and they should eat healthy food. We will provide free meals in kindergartens, so that no child is hungry, " - added Vakra.
"Also, we have already launched a program for the early learning of languages at kindergartens. We are sure that every additional language that was learned at kindergarten, will increase the competitiveness of children in the future, " - Vakra stated.
"I am glad that all other parties are in solidarity with us on this issue. Learning of Estonian in Russian kindergartens is a natural process for us. Our plan goes further - we want to invest in children, by giving the child in each kindergarten the opportunity to learn the second language," - added Vakra.
The first party numbers in the districts will be announced in coming weeks.
