In the coming weekend, on July 22 and 23, traditional Rose Days will be held at the Tallinn Botanic Garden, during which the emphasis will be made on modern sorts of roses.
Experts agreed to divide thousands of existing sorts of roses into old (Old Garden Roses) and modern (Modern Roses). The founder of the latter is the first artificial hybrid “La France”, created in 1867. Modern roses differ in that they blossom from early summer to autumn.
Within two days it will be possible to take part in excursions, consult with specialists, buy seedlings and natural cosmetics, and children will be able to try watercolor painting.
Excursions in Russian will start both days at 13:00. Participation in the watercolor master class will cost 9 euros.
