NO36 DREAMERS

ULFSAK

Juhan Ulfsak is an actor and a director whose productions have delved into the psyche of the contemporary man in a controversial, irrational and expressive way. Among others, he has used texts by Michel Houellebecq, Sarah Kane, Lars von Trier et al as starting points for his works. “Dreamers” takes its material straight from the bloodstream of its troupe, plunging together with the actors into the limbo that is at the heart of the contemporary world. Intensively merging with the world, and at the same time - the wish to find a distance from it. The obligation to change one's surroundings, and at the same time, the wish to withdraw to a mountain cabin. Unable to be sincere, unable to be ironic. The only way to relate to the world is to play - to plunge into games with other people and with oneself that are both sadistic and cruel, erotic and tender. And when playing is no longer enough, a turn worthy of an ancient Indian film sets in: the guitar is destroyed, the drum hit to shreds, and the mic - deluged by everything that is on one's heart.

It is Bernardo Bertolucci's film “The Dreamers” and Jean Cocteau's book “Les Enfants Terribles” that serve as reference points for "NO36 Dreamers".

On stage and music - actors of Theatre NO99 Rea Lest, Jörgen Liik, Simeoni Sundja and resident composer at Theatre NO99, Jakob Juhkam .Light and video Petri Tuhkanen, costumes and drawings Kärt Hammer, dramaturg Eero Epner.
