Trails for walks and Scandinavian walking were opened in Pohja-Tallinn.
The opening ceremony of the first in Estonia special inner-city trails for walks and Scandinavian walking took place near the main entrance to the Kopli Park yesterday. In general, there will be three such trails in Pohja-Tallinn, the district council reported.
After the speeches and screwing of the symbolic screws into the info-stand installed at the crossroads of Pelguranna Street and Kopli Street, people who gathered there went for a joint walk along the route Kopliisky Park - Stromka - Pelgulinna Square – Kopli Street.
It is about the longest of the opened trails, its length is 5.7 km. Another one is 3.7 km long and is located in Kopli and passes through Kopliisky lines. The Noblessner's trail in Kalamaja (3.4 km) passes through the Kalamaja Park, Lennusadam and the territory of the Patarei Merekindlus. Its marking was delayed for a couple of weeks due to the roof collapse on the Patarei Merekindlus territory.
The creation of the trails was supported by the Eesti Terviserajad foundation and the company BLRT Grupp, whose representatives were present at the opening ceremony. Young players from the Pohja-Tallinn club "Volta" participated in the first walk along the inner-city path.
The creation of the trails cost about 10 000 euros.
