On June 1, perennial flowers will be planted on the separating strip of Laagna tee. Preparing the ground for planting has already begun.
For the last few days, the Lasnamae administration receives questions from residents of the district about what is happening on the Laagna tee dividing line.
Tractors and machinery were noticed there, which dig something and carry away soil.
On June 1st, more than 800 school kids from the educational institutions of Tallinn will plant perennial flowers over the length of the entire Laagna tee.
Total number of flower beds that will be created at a distance of 6.2 km will be 38. The project coincides with the Children's Day and is organized by the Department of the Environment in cooperation with the Lasnamae administration. Planting flowers is only the first phase of the project. During the summer and autumn in addition to flowers perennial shrubs will appear on the dividing line of Laagna tee.
In connection with the flower festival, traffic on Laagna tee will be closed on June 1st from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m., an exception will be made only for public transport. Temporary bypass scheme will work for the motorists during this period.
