Days of the Old City, which will be held from 31th of May to 4th of June, will be dedicated to the youth and will gladden with the traditionally rich program.
"If youth only knew..." - wrote the French writer Henri Etienne. Knowing and loving Old Tallinn is very important for young people, who will have to preserve these historical and cultural values of the Estonian capital in future. This is what the organizers of the Days of the Old City consider. And since 2017 was just announced the year of children and youth culture by the Ministry of Culture, the celebrations will be held under the motto "Young Old Town" and will include many activities aimed at children and young people or held by the forces of young participants.
The opening day - the last day of spring - will be dedicated to the traditional spring event - exams. In cooperation with the Nargenfestival, the organizers of the Old City Days offer the public an opportunity to observe the examinations of the bachelor, master and doctoral stages of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater, inspiring young accentors, who will become part of the musical life of Estonia in the future, with their presence. Free concerts will be held in the church Jaani, the concert hall "Estonia", the Hopner house and Gustav Adolf Gymnasium. And at 20:00, in the City Hall Square, you can enjoy dance music performed by the Estonian State Symphony Orchestra and the rock band Peep Show.
