In Estonia, there is a whole series of events dedicated to the 100th birthday of the Republic of Finland. The culmination will be a concert of Estonian and Finnish musicians on Vabaduse Square today.
Large free concert of Finnish and Estonian artists and musicians will be started, which will open speeches of Presidents of Estonia Kerst Kalyulayd and Finland - Sauli Niinisto. Its beginning will be at 6 p.m., on Vabaduse Square.
Tallinn offered all the northern neighbors free access to public transport during the celebrations. It is enough to show an identity card issued by the authorities of Finland, with a photograph.
In Maarjamäe Castle, more precisely, in its former stable, there will be an exhibition "100 Affairs of Finland", telling with humor about the everyday life of our neighbors.
On the 10th and 11th of June, the Tallinn Street Food Festival will take place in Telliskivi (Tallinn creative center), where Finnish cuisine will be introduced, Finnish artists will perform at the “Tadaa!” festival. At 3 p.m., the youth chamber ensembles of the two countries will perform at the Jaani Church. It is planned to hold at least 100 football matches of teams from Estonia and Finland (on both sides of the Gulf) in celebration of the 100th birthday.
The celebration will continue in summer and autumn as part of the Viru folk festival and the POFF film festival, and at the festive week from 30th of November to 9th of December there will be a lot of concerts and events in Narva, Pärnu, Tartu, Haapsalu and Tallinn.
