On Thursday, 22th of June, the Navigation Center «Haven Kakumae» was ceremonially opened - the newest yacht port in Estonia. It has an outdoor recreation area with a sailing center, a children's sailing school, a beach football field, beach tennis and volleyball courts.
According to the executive director of the Haven Kakumae port, Neeme Kaarma, the open Navigation Center Kakumae is also the largest access to the sea in Tallinn. "One of the advantages of the Kakumae Navigation Center among many other yacht ports is the ability to take and serve small vessels of different sizes in the same place in summer, and store them in winter, including super-yachts, large vessels up to 30 meters in length and diving depth up to four meters .
The yacht port is a unique sailing center, the first real sailing stadium in the Gulf of Finland. "We became the first yacht port, where you can come to the promenade by a golf cart, transport your guests and equipment. In other yacht ports of the Baltic Sea, such service is not offered," - Kaarma noted the uniqueness of the services at the Navigation Center.
Haven Kakumae Navigation Center will host local and international regattas, match race competitions, water shows, cultural marine events and other sporting events. An integral part of the newly opened center is the service center aimed at overseas market of serving small vessels. There is an opportunity in the port to refuel at the service station of the domestic operator Alexela.
The owners invested 21 million euros in the construction of the Center. Upon completion, 200 workplaces will be created in the Navigation Center, which will make Haven Kakumae the largest employer in the region.
