The first of the ordered by Tallinna Linnatranspordi AS (TLT) retro trams will be built this fall.
"It was planned and it is still planned that the first tram will be ready this fall. The exact time depends on a number of factors, primarily the supply of modern electric appliances necessary for trams from the Czech Republic," - said TLT spokeswoman Kalle Mihkels. According to him, the exact date will be known within two or three weeks.
The cost of designing and building retro trams will be 4 452 000 euros. Totally, on the basis of the Tatra KT-4 tram there will be built six retro trams in the style of the middle of the last century, equipped with modern technology and corresponding to modern safety rules.
Retro trams for TLT will be built by the Tallinn firm Uhinenud Depood OU.
