Estonia’s Grabcad hits 4 mln members

Grabcad, an online community network for mechanical engineers to collaborate with others that was originally established in Estonia in 2010 and acquired by the listed company Stratasys in 2014, has registered its 4 millionth user, informs LETA/BNS.

"From the start,Grabcadwas built to foster agile product development for engineers and designers, and we've since grown into the largest online community for product design in the world,"Grabcadsaid. It added that without members of the community,Grabcadwouldn't be where they are today, or where they are poised to go in the future.

Grabcadis a mechanical engineering community for engineers, designers and manufacturers to share talent, expand knowledge and collaborate, which enables members to learn from one another, share 3D models of products, develop themselves and their portfolios, and establish new contacts.

Grabcadoffers two software solutions:Grabcad Print and Grabcad Workbench.

"The platform's file library currently contains more than 2.3 million 3D files from different sectors of industry and the number keeps growing. While many users are only searching for components on the platform, for a large portion of engineers of the new generation it is their main tool. There are over 97,00 STL files in theGrabcadenvironment, which makes it one of the biggest of its kind,"Irena Mandmaa, manager ofGrabcad Estonia, said.

Grabcadis headquartered in Cambridge, in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
